Peter Clay, from the Caravan Industry Association of Australia, shared that within the caravan and camping industry, the traditional 30 to 54-year-olds and 55+ age brackets are the highest trip takers, with those groups going on 5.7 million and 3.6 million caravan or camping trips respectively. The number of trips taken by the 20 to 29-year-old age bracket grew by 22 per cent to surpass 2.2 million trips.
“From our perspective, the growth that we’re seeing, we haven’t seen for many, many years,” Mr. Clay informed.
A lot of people think it’s all about the grey nomads, but what we see is that the 30 to 54-year-olds are our largest market segment and mostly they are people with kids, younger kids especially.
People are moving back to the easy things in life, linking with people and nature, going hiking or hitting the beach. You have the chance to really be present and experience peace and happiness, which is rather that is tough to do in a normal busy lifestyle.
