How to Build an Amazon Store: Step-by-Step Guide

An Amazon store can be a great way to sell more than just your products. You can create a stronger brand experience for your customers by opening an Amazon store. They will be able to learn more about you and view all of the products in one place.

Create an Amazon Seller Account

Registering to sell products on Amazon is the first step. Amazon offers two pricing options for U.S. seller account accounts: an amazon individual seller plan that costs $.99 per product sold and a professional plan that costs $39.99 per month. 

You may have to pay additional monthly fees depending on whether Amazon fulfills product purchase orders for you.

You will need to choose the “business type” of your company when setting up your seller account. This could be a privately owned business, charity, or individual.

It is also important to select the regions where you plan to sell, such as North America, Europe, or Japan. To complete your seller account, be sure to have your contact information and a credit card.

Register your brand on Amazon

After you have created your seller account, you will need to register your company in the Amazon Brand Registry. Your company must have a registered trademark that is active in the country you intend to sell to and your logo on the packaging.

 

If you meet these criteria, will begin the enrollment process. Log in to your seller account, choose the country where you wish to enroll your brand, and complete the necessary information. After that, you will submit your enrollment to be reviewed.

Rich details are required to add products to your shop

Once your brand is activated, it’s easy to add all your products to your digital shelves. You can either add one product to the Seller Central hub or multiple products at once using a Microsoft Excel-based spreadsheet. 

Each product in your inventory should have a unique SKU number. Every new SKU added to Amazon creates an entirely new record. Once an SKU number is established, it cannot be modified. 

In addition to the item’s quantity, price, condition, classification, and other details, you will need to enter their information.

Professional accounts can add Amazon A+ Content to each product. You can add photos, videos, and artwork to your product’s A+ Content. Logging into Amazon seller central account and clicking Advertising in the menu will allow you to add A+ Content to product listings. 

Then click amazon enhanced brand content. You can then enter the SKU number of the item you wish to improve and select a template. The template can be filled with photos and other details.

Create and launch your store webpage

These steps will get you started.

  1. Register to Seller Central
  2. Click Stores from the navigation menu. Next, click Manage Stores. Finally, click Create Store.
  3. Choose the template that best suits your store. There are options such as a product grid or a marquee to highlight curated products.
  4. To build a store, open the Store Builder.
  5. To create subpages in your store, select the Page Manager option. Subpages can be used to showcase different product types.
  6. You can use the Tile Manager option for text, photos, and videos to be added or removed from your pages.
  7. After you have selected the products that you would like to highlight in your store, you can use the Preview Window feature to see how it will look on both desktop and mobile browsers.
  8. Once you have finished designing your store click the Submit for publishing button. It may take several days for the page to be approved.
